alohomora is a closed, semi literate aurp based on the harry potter universe, set in our current time. if you've always wanted to be a student at hogwarts, this is your chance! or perhaps, be one of our professors and teach us about the greatness of wizardry. as all good things are three, we are opening our doors for a third time. join us for a lot of fun and mischief!

o ages and ocs o

Below are the guidelines the rp will follow in terms of fc ages and oc ages in accordance with the seven school years here in Alohomora:

year 1 —— 17 fc age (10 spots)
year 2 —— 18 fc age (10 spots)
year 3 —— 19 fc age (10 spots)
year 4 —— 20 fc age (10 spots)
year 5 —— 21 fc age (10 spots)
year 6 —— 22 fc age (10 spots)
year 7 —— 23 fc age (10 spots)

professors
professors fc ages for their oc’s are preferred to be 24+. however, ageing up or down of your fc by a maximum of 4 years is allowed and completely acceptable. however, we ask you to do so only if completely necessary for your oc.

head students and prefects
only fifth, sixth and seventh year students are applicable to run for head boy or girl, whilst only third, fourth and fifth year students are applicable to run for prefects. Please respect this as we wish to give everyone a fair chance at campaigning.

the daily prophet.
the daily prophet is the wizard newspaper. it features gossip about students and teachers as well as segments about missing pets, daily quizzes and more. you can anonymously submit gossip and rumors to the newspaper by writing a note and slipping it into the daily prophet's mailbox. the newspaper is handled by seventh year students.

dorms.
dorms are divided by year and house. there are 5 students per dorm room.

professors.
professors can host their own classes in group chats. assignments are optional for the professors to give the students to gain extra housepoints.

opoint systemo

house points are awarded to students at Hogwarts that do good deeds, correctly answer a question in class, or win at games and events held by base. They can also be taken away for rule-breaking by professors if they deem their reasoning to be under the following:
—— academic misconduct
—— disrespectful behaviour
—— unauthorised possessions
—— harassment

if, however, a student feels that a professor has wrongfully taken away points from their house for whatever reason, they have complete authorisation to approach the headmaster (base) publicly (@ base on the tl) and challenge the professor's ruling. the headmaster (base) will then, after listening to the student's argument, determine if the professor's ruling was justified or not. If justified, a house will be awarded 5 extra points for wrongful termination of points.

o inside the castleo

common rooms (+ dormitory)
there are four common rooms, one for each house, only available for the students of the particular house.
hogwarts great hall
used not only for shared meals, but also hanging out with your friends or studying.
library
available to all students and professors. make sure not to get seen by the forbidden books.
hospital wing
a place to take care of sick or wounded students and staff.
classrooms
these rooms are assigned to the professors and their subject respectively.
astronomy tower
while used for classes, the tower often is a place of quiet for students who need to take a breather.

o castle grounds o

greenhouses
with a count of three, the greenhouses are used to grow magical plants and for herbology classes.
quidditch pitch
available for all four teams to practice for upcoming matches.
gamekeeper's hut
being located on the edge of the forbidden forest, the gamekeeper generally takes care of the magical creatures in the forest.
forbidden forest
home of many magical creatures. this forest should not be entered by students nor professors as it guarantees enormous danger. recently, many students have been caught sneaking off to the forest at night.
ruins
while they're considered dangerous, many students hold duels around this area. others use it as another, more private place to hang out.

o hogsmeade o

hogsmeade station
a small, rather dimly lit station the hogwarts express arrives on. turned into another dueling place after the battle.
dominic maestro's music shop
as the name gives away, instruments, cds and vinyls are sold here.
honeydukes
sweets shop with a secret passageway to hogwarts.
madam puddifoot's tea shop
frequently visited by couples to go on dates.
hog's head inn
both a pub and inn as a place to stay for a few days during breaks. considered to be very filthy. many students choose to stay here during weekends, not being able to stand the tension at the castle.

o diagon alley o

gringotts wizarding bank
only known bank in the wizarding world and run by goblins, stores money and valuables for wizards.
ollivanders
the sole wand shop of diagon alley, selling wands for hundrets of years.
magical menagerie
shop for school supplies and pets for students.
flourish and blotts
popular bookshop in diagon alley, a lot of students buy their school books here.
the daily prophet's main office
headquarters of the daily prophet and the printing station of the famous newspaper.
weasleys' wizard wheezes
joke shop featuring both wizard and muggle joke objects.
